The USC chapter
We are a student chapter of a global network that has worked with thousands of socially conscious organizations. Each semester our consultants are placed on small project teams with a real client, a real scope, and a real deadline.
Projects run the range of strategy, operations, growth, and data work. You do not need a business background — you need curiosity, structure, and follow-through.
- Who can apply
- Any USC student with a @usc.edu email address.
- How many we take
- We typically welcome 8–15 new members each fall and spring. That is what a cohort usually looks like, not a quota or a guarantee.
- Time commitment
- About 10 hours a week during an active project, including team meetings.
- Prior experience
- Not required. We recruit for reasoning and reliability, not a résumé line.
How recruiting works
Five stages. Dates for each one appear in your application once you sign in.
Apply
A short written application: a few questions about how you think and why this. You can save a draft and come back before the deadline.
Written review
Two members read every application independently, without names attached, and score it against the same rubric.
First round
A 30-minute conversation with two members — behavioural questions, one short estimate, one very short case. Nothing to prepare or bring.
Team case
A collaborative case with other finalists, then a short presentation. We are watching how you work with people, not who talks most.
Decisions
We follow up by email once the process wraps. Everyone hears from us either way.
